Connect ChatGPT to the hosted Agent Analytics MCP server to explore traffic, meaningful events, funnels, retention, session paths, and experiments from your conversation. The server is available through developer mode; Agent Analytics is not currently listed in the public OpenAI Plugins Directory.
Before you connect
Section titled “Before you connect”- Developer mode must be available for your ChatGPT account and allowed by your workspace policy. If the setting is unavailable, ask your workspace administrator or use Codex or the CLI in a suitable environment.
- Use the Google or GitHub identity that owns your Agent Analytics projects when approving access.
- Projects need real events before analytics can answer product questions. For a new project, follow Your first project and define events for the goals you want to measure.
Add the MCP connection
Section titled “Add the MCP connection”- Open ChatGPT Settings → Security and login and enable Developer mode.
- Open Plugins and select the plus button.
- Enter Agent Analytics as the name. For a public MCP connection, enter
https://mcp.agentanalytics.sh/mcp. - Create the connection, review its discovered tools, and complete browser sign-in and approval when prompted. No account API key is required.
- Start a new conversation and add Agent Analytics from the tools menu.
These steps follow OpenAI’s connect and test instructions. Developer-mode access is a testing connection, separate from a published directory listing. If you already have a working connection, reuse it.
Ask your first question
Section titled “Ask your first question”List my Agent Analytics projects, then show the overview for my-site for the last 7 days.Replace my-site with a project from the returned list. Then ask questions tied to your product goals:
- Which sources bring visitors who complete my activation event?
- Where do sessions drop off before signup?
- What changed in retention after our onboarding release?
Supported hosts can render interactive analytics views alongside model-readable results. Available tools and analyses depend on account permissions and plan. A successful tool response and a correctly rendered view are separate checks.
The MCP connection provides analytics and supported project or experiment operations. Changes to product code, tracking, and deployment belong to your coding environment or product team. Review and authorize requested write actions before they run.
Refresh and troubleshoot
Section titled “Refresh and troubleshoot”- No projects: confirm that you approved the correct Agent Analytics account. If the account is new, create a project and verify its first meaningful event.
- Stale tools or views: open the connection in ChatGPT Plugins, select Refresh, then start a new conversation.
- Authorization error: check the connection’s sign-in state and approve only the access you intend to grant.
- Plan restriction: use an available analysis or review your plan. Another transport does not bypass account permissions or limits.
- View missing: use the text and structured tool result while checking host support and connection metadata.
The bundled plugin package is also available for local testing through a marketplace. See the plugin repository and OpenAI’s local packaging instructions for authoring details. A locally tested package may differ from the public repository version.
